Getting there

By car - Penmachno is 2 miles off the A5 south of Betws-y-Coed.

By public transport - The bus stop in the village is approximately 100 metres from the cottage. There is a local bus service between Penmachno and Llanwrst and Betws-y-Coed, both of which have railway stations and bus services which link to further afield.

Arrival and Parking

There is no off road parking at the cottage, however, there is usually a parking space on road in front of the cottage. The keysafe, to which is by the back door, is down a short gravel path to the side of the cottage. The key kept in the keysafe is for the back door. There is one step into the house at the back door which is 120mm high. The front door, which can then be opened from inside has no step. There is a light outside the front door, however, if arriving after dark guests are advised to bring a torch to access the keysafe at the rear of the property.

Ground Floor

The front door, which is 800mm wide, opens directly into the lounge. The door between the lounge and the kitchen is 750mm wide. The back hall which leads to the utility room / downstairs toilet and back door, at its narrowest, is 700mm. The dining chairs and comfortable seating are of a standard height, as are the kitchen units.

There is a full size electric cooker, a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle in the kitchen. The utility room / downstairs toilet contains the electric central heating boiler, a sink, front-loading washing machine and compact tumble dryer. There is also an iron and ironing board. For entertainment there is a 26inch flat-screen television, a freesat box, a DVD player and an ipod docking station.

There is a travel cot, fireguard, stair gate and high chair available for our younger guests.

First Floor

The stairs are narrow and steep, with a tread width of 640mms and a gradient of 1:1. There is a handrail on the right-hand side. At the top of the stairs there is a narrow landing and then a further step to the right for access to the bathroom and bedroom one. To the left at the top of the stairs is access to bedroom two which has a step up into it and to bedroom three. The bathroom has a standard height toilet and a high-sided bath with shower over. All of the doors on the first floor are narrower than average the narrowest being 590mm.

The only public house in the village is approximately 75 metres from the cottage. The nearest shops, 4 miles away, are in Betws-y-Coed including a Spar, a larger supermarket is 8 miles away in LLanwrst. Sainsury's, Tesco's and Asda all deliver on-line shopping to Penmachno.

There is no mobile phone signal in the house and very patchy coverage on all networks in Penmachno. There is a landline in the property for incoming calls only, the number will be supplied with the arrival instructions.
