Terms & Conditions.


General

A contract for a letting is made between the person who completes the booking form and the owners of the cottage on the issue of a confirmation of booking. That person also is deemed to have accepted these 'Terms and Conditions' on behalf of all the members of their party and is responsible for informing them of these. In cases where the completion of a booking form is not required, the contract is with the person who pays the deposit and that person is also deemed to have accepted these 'Terms and Conditions' on behalf of all the members of their party and is responsible for informing them of these.
Bookings are for holiday purposes only and cannot give rise to a tenancy.
The owners have the right to refuse any booking without explanation.

Making payment

The deposit of 50% of the total cost of the rental is non-refundable. The owners will only consider a refund in the case of cancellation on account of the death, injury or illness of a party member in respect of party members whose names are entered on the booking form.
Your final account, which the owners issue with confirmation of your booking on receipt of the deposit, becomes due for settlement six weeks before the start of the holiday. The owners do not, routinely, issue reminders and reserves the right to cancel the booking if payment is not received by the due date. Bookings made less than six weeks in advance are payable in full at the time of booking.
Once a confirmation of booking has been issued, you are legally liable for the full balance payment. In the event of alteration or cancellation, charges will be payable as set out below. You should therefore ensure that you take out insurance to cover the full rental cost in case of cancellation.

Rental prices

The prices shown are cash prices. Payments may be made by cheque, or by Paypal. The owners do not ask for a cleaning or damage deposit but do expect our guests to leave the property as they found it. Should significant damage or cleaning be required, the owners will bill you for any remedial work/ extra cleaning required.

Cottage description

Every care has been taken in preparing the description of the cottage and gives the essential details of the cottage. the owners have also tried to ensure that the pictures that accompany the cottage description give as accurate an impression of the cottage as possible. However, slight changes to the cottage, and in particular to furnishings, may have occurred since details were placed on this website. The owners cannot be held responsible if, on arrival, the cottage does not meet your expectations.
The cottage has on road car parking, fully equipped kitchen and colour television with freesat and DVD player. Beds will be made up with fresh linen. Towels are supplied.
Bod Hyfryd is a no smoking property.

Alterations or cancellation by you

Once your holiday has been confirmed, you are legally liable for the full balance payment and, if you wish to make any alterations or cancel the booking, you must notify the owners in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. The owners will acknowledge all alterations and cancellations in writing within seven days and, if you do not receive an acknowledgement within this timescale, you should contact the owners immediately. In the event of a cancellation, The owners will make every effort to re-let the cottage but you will be liable to pay the full rental cost if this is not possible. If the cottage is relet the owners will refund the balance payment only, irrespective of when the booking was cancelled.
Under certain circumstances (see below) the owners may accept the cancellation of a booking and agree to refund the balance even if the cottage is not relet. The decision as to whether to issue a refund is entirely at the discretion of the owners and no correspondence or communication will be entered into in respect of such a decision. By making a booking and paying a deposit you are deemed to accept these terms and conditions. Refunds may be given if you have to cancel for any of the following reasons, in which case you must submit a medical certificate or other documentation to substantiate the need to cancel to enable the owners to consider making a refund:
1. Death, injury or illness of the person who paid the deposit, a close relative or close business associate of theirs or of any party member named on the booking form.
2. Jury service or occupational posting of the person who paid the deposit, not known or reasonably predicted at the time of booking.
Where cancellation is for any other reason, the owners will do its best to re-let the cottage but you will remain liable for the full balance payment on the due date. You should therefore ensure that you take out insurance to cover the full rental cost in case of cancellation. If the cottage is re-let, the owners will refund the balance payment only, irrespective of when the booking was cancelled.
Alterations or cancellation the owners
Where the owners are unable to honour a booking, the owners will make every effort to offer a suitable alternative cottage. If this is not possible, a full refund of all monies paid will be made. The owners shall not be liable for any further compensation.

Occupying your holiday cottage

Directions for reaching the cottage, instructions for obtaining the key and the name and telephone number of the owners will be issued on receipt of the final payment. Properties can be occupied from 15.00 on the day of arrival until 10.00 on the day of departure, except for short breaks where variations may be agreed by prior arrangement with the owners of the cottage.
The number of people occupying a cottage must not exceed the number stated in the cottage description. The party are welcome to bring one dog, on the condition that the dog is not allowed on the furniture or upstairs and are never left in the cottage unattended. Where there is evidence that these conditions have not been adhered to, future bookings may be refused.
Properties must be left in a clean and tidy condition. You are liable for any damage beyond normal wear and tear.

Complaints

Occasionally things can go wrong. If there is a problem please phone the owners as soon as possible. The owners will make every effort to sort the problem out for you. The owners regret that it is not possible to consider complaints once a cottage has been vacated.

Liability

The owners are not liable for any unexpected or unusual circumstances which are outside their control, such as severe weather conditions, failure of public utilities, fire, flood, drought, acts of riot, etc and which may lead to facilities offered on this website becoming unavailable for all or part of the rental period.
